Sprawled rather ungracefully across a futon, Reiya was fast asleep, the blanket she had used throughout the night tangled around her legs. She stirred slightly, opening her eyes just enough to examine the ceiling overhead.
"Muh...still here?" She sighed and slowly pushed herself upright, yawning aloud as she did so. The red haired girl rubbed her eyes, still groggy. She almost felt hungover, but she hadn't been drinking last night...had she? After a few moments of consideration Reiya decided she had no idea of what had happened the previous night. Maybe Auburn would know ((After effects of Tynt's hair!fruit are like hangovers and inability to recall what happened while the person was running around as a toddler.))
She was only just sitting when suddenly the world seemed to jerk to the side, then back. It was enough to send the half demon sliding from her bed. From there she scrambled to her feet, catching herself against the wall as it happened again. "What the heck was that?!" She was certain she had not cast any spells.
Reiya moved to go into the hallway when the ground moved violently again, and this time didn't seem to stop. In the hall she tried to stay on her feet, spreading her arms to try to keep steady. Her limbs were too short, however, and she wound up crashing to the floor just as the shaking slowed and stopped.
A short ways ahead of her she heard a crash as the stairwell at the end of the hall gave way and partially collapsed. Once the shaking stopped, Reiya sat perfectly still for a few moments, wondering if it would happen again. When it didn't, she climbed back to her feet, making her way to the edge of the hall. She peered down what was left of the stairs, and looked back over her shoulder.
"Everybody out!" She shouted, hoping everyone staying in the inn would have heard her, and hoping even more that others were already awake. With the stairs partially collapsed, she wondered how strong the building itself was. Rather than jump to the stairs, and possibly cause more damage, she lifted herself with a simple levitation spell and drifted over the stairs and to the ground floor.
In the main room the bar counter in the corner was broken in two, and the pair of front windows were broken, as had also happened a few days ago. Wondering if she could see the source of the shaking, she made her way quickly outside.
From the outside the damage did not look bad. A few cracks in the building and a dozen or so broken windows. Still concerned though, she cupped her hands around her mouth and called back into the inn, "Hey, anybody in there?!"

Auburn had been sleeping fitfully. It wasn't that she wasn't tired. It wasn't that she couldn't sleep. It was just that some natural sense in her was insisting something was very backwards and wrong, and it wasn't just this place. And just when she thought she was finally comfortable, finally able to sleep, something nagged in the back of her mind, telling her things were not all well with the world.
But sleep she did. Until, that is, a violent rumbling startled her awake, causing her to sit upright and then promptly tumble clean off the bed she was laying on. The ruddy-haired half-Hylian lay stunned for a moment until she realized what was happening. This was no act of magic or man... this was an earthquake. She struggled to her feet, planting both firmly at an even pace apart to try to maintain some semblance of balance as she made her way toward the door. She could hear Reiya and was just about to call out when the doorframe in front of her went with part of the ceiling. Giving a startled shout, she stumbled back, landing flat on her rump as the shaking, finally, subsided.
She was panting and glaring at the rubble when she heard Reiya yelling from outside. Pushing both long-fingered hands back through her mussed ruddy hair, she got to her feet and moved to the window, doing her level best to ignore just how high up she actually was. Two floors wasn't that far. Right?
"Alive and kicking!" she called back, her ears tipped down. "You okay?! That was a nasty shaker!"

Link had managed to fall asleep upside down. His feet were laying casually on his pillow, his boots strewn across the floor as if he couldn't wait to get out of them and into his bed. Beneath the bed's sheets, his long ears made miniature fabric mountains that moved slightly as the young man shifted in his sleep. Navi had mercifully disappeared as soon as Link had fallen asleep, but as morning came, so with it was another strange occurrence.
Just before the earthquake hit, Navi appeared out of nowhere and hovered around one of Link's hands, which was poking out from beneath the wrinkled sheets. "Link?" A deep rumble sounded, and the room gave a good shake. "Hey! Link!!" Navi called, her usual high-pitched, panicked voice accenting the tinkling sound she made when she was trying to get the elf's attention. "Wake up! Something's wrong!"
From beneath the floral patterned plains, the mountains moved again, this time crushed by Link's hands. He was trying to block Navi's voice out. His head was all fuzzy, and he really didn't feel like crawling out from under the blanket just yet. "Go bother Saria... Or Impa... Or that Goron that was named after me. I'm sure he'd LOVE to have a fairy," Link muttered into the mattress. "He loves everything else about me..."
"No, LISTEN! There's something wrong, and--" The second, stronger wave of quakes hit, this time not giving Link a choice in whether or not he'd be staying in bed. It was up and at 'em for the elf, and with a muffled thud, he hit the floor, tangled in the comforter. A few things fell from night stands, and the floor beneath him creaked dangerously. In an instant, Link was back on his feet, tugging his boots on, and trying to strap his sword on at the same time. Finally came the hat as he ran-stumbled through the doorway and towards the stairs - which were half gone. The elf's blue eyes widened and he finished shoving his foot into his boot. "What the..."
Somehow, he managed to keep his balance and he looked over the banister's edge. No one seemed to be hurt, and Navi's insistent yammering was finally getting through the fog in his brain. "It's a quake, Link! We shouldn't just be standing around! It looks like Reiya's outside, but I don't know about Aubur-"
"Shush, Navi. I get it..." Link said, rubbing at his temples as the ground stopped shaking. A good amount of dust had been kicked into the air, but really, the damage wasn't too awful... Save for the fact that he was more or less stuck on the second floor. That, though, was easily remedied. Link fished around for his hookshot, but paused when he heard Auburn call out from another room. Curious, he picked his way around the rubble and spotted what used to be a doorway. It was now a crumpled mess of wood, but in what was left of the room was one Auburn, shouting out the window.
"Auburn! Are you okay? That was a pretty nasty quake. It's strange that it'd be so sudden like that. I thought something was wrong this morning, but Link wouldn't wake up. Oh, that was a nasty thing you've dodged. How are you going to get out of here? I wonder what caused such a thing to happen. Maybe if we-"
"Navi!" Link was looking rather exasperated by that point, and he batted at the little fairy before carefully picking his way towards Auburn and the window. He peeked out and gave Reiya a cheery wave, ears perking up slightly. "Hey, we're okay too!" Not that Navi really needed to be included, as fairies weren't exactly big targets, but as annoying as she was, she'd been with him for a long, long time. "Hey Auburn. Need some help out of here?" He held up the hookshot, which he'd finally managed to dig out of his seemingly endless supply of gadgets and weapons.
What was really amusing, was he'd had to do something quite similar to this to navigate the Gerudo Thieves' hideout. Talk about irony, right? Well, at least half.

Reiya was uneasy as for a few moments she didn't see or hear a reply from anyone still inside the inn. Finally Auburn appeared in one of the windows and the half demon took a few steps closer to the building to wave toward her friend.
"Are you okay up there?" She called. She wasn't sure why Auburn hadn't left the building, not fully considering that perhaps she couldn't. "You're not hurt, right? I don't think you should..." Reiya cocked her head, the realization hitting her then, and she continued with a somewhat cruel little smirk. "Aubby...do you need help getting down?"
Before Auburn could answer Reiya noticed Link's appearance in the same window. "Hi!" She called back, finally having made her way to the very edge of the building, so she was looking straight up. "If you're coming down, the stairs are out, you'd have to jump, or Aubby could use a levitation spell..." She paused, "'Course, I guess just coming from there is faster, and probably a lil' safer too."
She watched them for a few moments, almost expecting the building to shift again. Thankfully it didn't, and the red head called to Link again. "Be careful if you're coming down with Aubby...she's got an awful fear of heights!"

The night had been long enough for the long-eared creature of Adra and Switchy had only been dragging himself through the streets for the past few minutes. The tiny Fluff Dragon could not comprehend why he was still stuck in this place. Switchy was not one to stay in a city for more than a few days and, although it appeared as though the time had not passed at all since his arrival, he could have sworn that he had been here for more than a week! And worse yet . . . HE HADN'T MADE ANY MONEY!!!
"This blows pegicorn wings . . . " the mismatched creature snarled to himself just before the earth below him seemed to erupt in spasms and split. With a yelp, he leaped into the air and quickly began fluttering his pink wings to keep aloft. Looking around and safe from the vibrations of the earth, Switchy observed the damage to the world around him. "Geeze! Someone's got the sprites angry!" he exclaimed.
Shaking his body ear tip to tail tip, Switchy took off around the road's curve in hopes of finding out what yutzes were messing with sprites, unaware of anything else that could cause the earth to move. Seeing a building with people just outside, he rushed forward.
"Hey! Who's the moron makin' the ground move!?" he exclaimed before gliding to a perch on a tree limb close to Reiya. "Sprites are NOT something to be playing around with!"

Auburn just kind of stared at Link like he was insane for a moment. "Hookshot down?" she asked, shifting uncomfortably. "No, no, I'm... I'm okay. I'll find a way down--..."
Somewhere in that, she'd overheard Reiya talking, and her ears twitched a bit violently as she glared down. "Not fair!" she hollered. "I'm not that scared of heights! It's just... really... high!" And... and I'm sure it's not structurally sound, so using the hookshot must be completely out of the question, and... and..."
Honestly, she had no good excuses. It was a wonder she ever managed to get through the temple in the Valley sometimes with this fear, but the acrophobic sorceress had learned very quickly that sometimes closing your eyes and floating was the best way to do things. Not in this case, though. She wasn't about to make a fool of herself in front of everyone, which would probably involve a lot of screaming on the way down or clinging to the ground like a tossed cat when she got there.
She didn't even pay any mind to the new arrival. No, she was much too busy worrying over the immediate problem of getting out of the damaged inn. Yeah. This was going to be a problem, and she was pretty sure she was going to be giving either Reiya or Link a pounding for it one way or the other!

Earthquakes always were a nuisance. Hikari never wanted to admit it, but they typically frightened her, which was a bad thing when one lived in Tokyo.
Still a little shaken, the blonde had found her way to the inn, but she didn't see anyone at first. She glanced over her shoulder warily and took a deep breath, clutching her Star Power Stick tightly to her chest in both hands. As a Sailor Senshi, she couldn't afford to show fear. It could be used to the advantage of an enemy. Still, she was just fourteen, so it was only natural, she supposed.
Hikari stepped toward the inn, putting up a cheerful front that she was usually known for--a bright, kind teenager that people tended to like. "Konnichi wa!" she called. "Anyone here?"
It was then that she noticed a rather odd sight. She blinked, lifting her gaze toward the upper windows...and the people who were apparently hanging out of them. Being the naïve girl she was, she had to ask, "What are you all doing up there?" There probably wasn't much she could do, after all. Her Senshi form didn't have wings.

((haha, they're not REALLY hanging out the window per se, they're more inside... Reiya and Switchy are outside though. *nods nods*))
Link gave Reiya a bright smile, "Thanks for letting me know! I've got a way down!" He pulled his head inside and looked to Auburn, blue gaze quite serious. "I'll help you down, Auburn. Don't worry." He took on a rather heroic air and waved the hookshot. Before she could really complain, Link stepped up to her, hooked an arm around her waist and poised the arm holding the hookshot towards the ceiling and released it. Immediately it shot forward, grabbed onto an exposed beam and pulled both Link and Auburn off the floor.
With the expert sense of having done it far too many times, he released the chain slowly so that they both drifted to the ground. The moment that Auburn's feet hit solid earth, he let her go and the chain released from the ceiling, snapping back towards the device. He deftly stowed it away and gave Auburn a smile. "Alright!"
Navi, hovering over Link's shoulder as always, seemed pleased with what the Hylian had done, and followed them outside.
Link met up with Reiya and put his hands on his hips, looking up at the building. It groaned for a moment, threatening to fall, but then settled and was fine. The elf gave a low whistle and shook his head. "Wonder why that happened..."
"Link!"
"Quakes like that aren't common, are they?" He tilted his head, looking thoughtful.
"Link! Hey! Listen! Hey! LISTEN! LINK! HEY!" Navi was bobbing up and down.
The green-clad hero was ignoring her. "Oh, hello," He said to Hikari.
"LIIIIIIIIINK! LISTEEEEEEEEEEN!" Navi flew into his face, and finally he acknowledged her presence.
"WHAT?!" He frowned at her, looking more than a little irritated.
"Look over there," she said hotly.
Link looked. He stared. He then drew his sword and looked incredibly angry.
Why?
There was a gigantic beast standing on the road. And it was one that Link was sure he'd seen somewhere before. It looked like something from his own world. The thing was gigantic. It was hovering over the ground, and the air literally shimmered from the heat surrounding him. Serpentine and clawed, it looked like a dragon. The thing roared and Link produced a gigantic hammer from his supply of weapons.
The elf narrowed his eyes and muttered, "Volvagia."

((Wheeeee~ Darn you conversational!Link post! You makes mine look shorter! XD))
Reiya tilted her head in concern as Link disappeared back inside the window, wondering how long it would be before she heard screaming from Auburn from the prospect of being brought down from that height...well, not too high, but for her friend, it certainly looked high. She was actually a little surprised at first to not hear any racket.
While waiting for the two to come down, she glanced around, noticing a furry white creature as he settled onto a branch in a close by tree. Much to the redhead's surprise, the creature then spoke. "Ohh, sprites?" She thought for a moment, then gave a slight shake of her head as she instinctively reached to pat the creature on the head, reminded somewhat of Hakkai's dragon, Hakuryuu. "I d'no if sprites made the earth shake like that..." She said somewhat thoughtfully. Though, she had no better explanation.
She noticed the other newcomer approaching and turned partway to face her. "Ah, hi the--oop!" Quickly the half demon ran her hands through her long hair, making a soft hissing sound each time she ran across a tangle. She had never liked the idea of people seeing her before she was properly groomed for the day. After a few seconds however Reiya realized that there was no way to make her appearance all that much better, and so she flashed another smile at the young girl and waved, "Hiya!" Just as Link and Auburn landed on the ground a short distance behind her. So just as quickly, she spun to face her friends. "Haaa, that was cool! Can I go next?"
It was likely she would have continued on that bit if she had not quickly seen what Navi did. Her red eyes flew wide and her jaw dropped slightly as she retreated a few shaky steps back toward where the newest arrival was standing. "I-is that a dragon?" Her eyes shot to Link, who already seemed ready to attack. Reiya didn't even think to ask where on earth that hammer had come from, but she seemed quite petrified at the sight of an enormous creature giving off that much heat. "A-Aubbie..." She glanced frightfully at her friend while trying to keep a tab on any potential move the giant creature might make.

(OOC: Okay. Maybe I can focus. D: So sorry!)
"A dragon?" Hikari quickly forgot about introductions. She stiffened, her gaze shifting to Volvagia. The beast wasn't anything thing she had ever fought before, but judging from Link's reaction, it wasn't a creature to be taken lightly.
For a moment she contemplated transforming, then decided against it. For now she would just see how things played out. She came up beside Link, her eyes never leaving the fiery monster. "Nice dragon," she said. "Don't be a bad dragon. No hurting people, okay?"
It was likely a futile effort, but there was no harm in trying.

Auburn did her best not to shriek. Oh, she did her level best. Her hands were glowing brightly by the time she landed, however, and she was trembling violently from top to toe. She hated heights! Had she not made that perfectly clear?! "You sorry piece of...!" she sputtered, trying very hard to keep voice and frame under control. "I told you I'd get down on my own! And Reiya! I can't believe you'd condone him doing this to me! Seriously now! Come on!"
She drew in a deep breath, but before she could continue, she noticed that Reiya was pointing at something she had not yet noticed. Spinning, she demanded "What?!" before her eyes widened. "By Sahiera..."
She took a step back. "It's Volvagia. How?! Link! Didn't you kill Volvagia?!" She drew in a deep breath, reaching for her sword. And that's when the girl moved forward and she tensed. "Stupid girl, get back! You can't talk to that thing!" She glanced back at Reiya again. "Reiya, that's Volvagia. The fire dragon of Death Mountain. Link defeated it once... or at least I thought..."
