A strange town surrounded by four gigantic white marble walls, and covered by a cloudy, rose-tinted sky. The landscape and buildings are well-cared for, and food and supplies are plentiful. But the only inhabitants are people of a variety of other worlds. It seems everyone residing in Elysian City simply appeared there at random.

No one knows how they ended up here, but everyone knows there is no way to leave. The gates refuse to open to even the strongest muscle or magic, and the walls do not seem to end. What could be going on in this city? It seems that only time will tell.

Que Sera Ser...Something

A loud rumble suddenly startled Max nearly right off the path he was walking on. He spun around once, thinking the strange noise came from a nearby row of bushes, or maybe rather an animal behind them. He stared for a few moments, until it happened again, and with a mild sense of amusement, he realized it was his own stomach.

"Man, how could a place like this not have a burger joint?" He muttered as he continued on. "Or at least a mini-mart or something..." Despite his mother's horrible cooking, Max was somewhat glad that he had eaten three bowls of her tuna surprise before he'd wound up here yesterday. Since he'd wound up here yesterday, he hadn't found a thing to eat.

As the boy started walking again he felt a different rumble, the ground suddenly shaking underneath his feet. He nearly lost his balance before it stopped. "What the...?"

He had barely regained his footing when it happened again, only this time the ground shook more violently. Max gave a startled shout and half jumped, half fell into shallow ditch just off the side of the road. Recalling earthquake drills from school, he coiled himself into a ball and covered his head with his hands. A short distance away he could hear tree trunks snapping. As a few more tense moments passed Max wished that his cap would finally activate near a portal and send him just about anywhere else.

With a final loud crash, Max pressed himself as close to the ground as he could get, and after a few more moments, the shaking stopped. A minute or passed before he raised his head, a sizable amount of dust and pebbles falling from his hat and shoulders. "Whoa..." He pulled himself to his feet and began to dust himself off. "Okay...this. Officially. Bites." He said, removing his cap for a moment to dust it off with his hand. "Verge? Normieeee? If you guys are around here the joke's over!" He finally shouted, turning in a circle. "Point me to the nearest portal!"

Ugh! Earthquakes, now? That Eris broad really knew how to pick her minions. The twins were positive that they could've made a better earthquake anyway, though they dared not bring that up to the sharp and dangerous goddess of chaos. Nor did their keeper and protector, Saul. Mostly because of the fact that to get home, Saul was certain they would have to do what the goddess said.

Rumble and Frenzy didn't like the whole plan, but they were just hostlets. They didn't have much say in the matter. They had to do what Saul said, which was the only way they could stay safe. And then there was another problem. They had no idea where they were now. They were just about to start an argument into who had gotten them lost this time when the sound of a boy yelling from nearby caught their attention. Blinking, the twins peered at one another before heading in the direction of the shouting.

And there was Max. Hm. Well, they were supposed to observe the happenings with the hapless "citizens" of this strange world. So... no harm in saying hello!

"Well, we ain't Verge or Normie," stated Frenzy, grinning, widely. "But maybe we can help each other out."

"I'm Ryan," Rumble continued, running a hand through his spiky dyed violet hair. "This is my twin brother, Ferrel. Who're you?"

(( I'm assuming these kiddos probably look around Max's age? I'm gonna go with that for now and if they're supposed to be older/younger, I'll change it later.

At first Max was annoyed by the complete lack of response, and he sighed loudly in frustration. He shifted and started to walk off again, but was startled to suddenly see two other boys approaching. "Oh! Uh...hi." He said as he spun on his heel to face the boy that had spoken first. "I was lookin' for my friends...Virgil and Norman. Don't suppose you guys have seen a giant, talking, know-it-all chicken and a really big guy with red hair and a giant sword around here, have ya?"

Perhaps Max should have been a little suspicious...After all, what kids his age were allowed to have purple hair? Obviously, his mind answered- kids with really cool parents. Briefly the boy wondered what his mother would say if he came home with a haircut like that. He quickly shook his head and got rid of the thought. Purple hair would clash with his red cap anyway.

"Anyway, I'm Max. Nice to meetcha. You guys stuck here, too? I haven't really seen any other kids around..."

((They're supposed to look around 12/13-ish, so close enough to him in age. ^^))

"Nice t'meet ya, Max," Ryan answered, holding out a hand to shake. "We're pretty lost too. My brother and I were out playing street hockey with some friends when... bam! We're here."

Ferrel nodded his agreement to the story his brother spun. It was pretty much how they were told people were popping up here, anyway. "So we've been tryin' to find our dad." His brow arched. "Did you say giant talking chicken and a huge guy with a sword?"

To be honest, the boys were about to suggest Sky Lynx and Springer, but they knew better. This kid wasn't from their universe, so they would not know about the Autobots' shuttle dragon or sword-wielding triple-changer. Ryan shrugged, then shook his head. "Can't say that we have. We haven't been here that long. it's just a relief to see someone else."

"Totally," Ferrel agreed. "This place is... pretty spooky, doncha think?"

Street hockey. Max was momentarily jealous. Any time it seemed he could engage in a fun activity like that, he would be pulled into some outrageous adventure that always seemed to hold the survival of the world in the balance. How he missed normality...

"Norman's a really big guy with a ponytail. And Virgil is a big talking chicken, er, fowl," He corrected himself using a funny tone. He thought for a moment if he'd seen anyone that might have been the father of the boys. "The only people I've seen since I got here, aside from you guys, is some dude in a red and gold metal suit, and a talking mummy girl. I wouldn't figure either of them are your dad...?"

As for the place being spooky? Max had to agree, but he had been in spookier places. Skullmaster's lair, for instance...the thought of that place still gave him nightmares, even months later. "Yeah...it is pretty creepy. I kinda keep feeling like someone's watching me. Ever get that feeling?"

((Ah...short, but something to go on at least, yah?))

"More often than you think," Ryan agreed with a long-suffering sigh. "Kinda might say our dad's got eyes in the back of his head." Or more, he could see through their eyes. Which more often than not resulted in them being caught in whatever mischief they were up to. Like the time they'd been trying to kidnap a human scientist, and one of them had thrown a jar of peanut butter at Ravage. The poor panther-bot had chomped down on it out of instinct, ending up with peanut butter stuck to the inside of his mouth with no way to get it out... and the twins had been too busy laughing about it to help. Boy had they caught Hell for that when Soundwave - Saul now, they supposed - found out! "But this place kinda has it worse, y'know?"

Ferrel then gave Max a long look. The boys didn't look normal right now... with grey-ish eyes instead of their normal blazing red, but they supposed that was all for the best. "Red and gold metal suit... and a mummy girl?" He made a thoughtful noise. "Sounds kinda familiar, actually... not our dad, but he does sound familiar. The mummy girl definitely no."

"Wait, Ferrel..." Ryan interjected. "Red and gold suit? Oh, man. I know who that is. Goes by Iron Man. He's trouble!"

The look on Ferrel's face shifted to one of recognition. "That's right! I remember now! He attacked our dad a bunch of times!"

Eyes in the back of his head, huh? Max nodded in understanding. Virgil seemed able to do the exact same thing. It was insanely annoying that the old fowl knew almost everything the boy was going to do before he did it. Plus he had that uncanny ability to find him anywhere in the world. If only he could do that now, Max actually wouldn't mind some instructions to get him back home.

"Iron...Man?" Max repeated the name after Ryan said it, and then stifled a laugh. "Heh, that's kind of a lame name for a guy like that." He then paused for a moment to think looking more serious. "Sheez though...he didn't seem like a bad guy at all. In fact, he saved my butt when I first got here. I got attacked by zombies! I would'a totally been a goner." He stopped again and looked thoughtful for a moment. Maybe that event hadn't happened exactly how Max had perceived it.

He looked back at the boys and let out a somewhat quieter, "Hmm," And tried to look thoughtful. "Maybe...maybe you guys are thinking of somebody else. This guy really didn't seem too bad, y'know?" His tone though, didn't sound completely convinced one way or the other. After all, the guy in the suit had pretty much split once the zombies were gone...

"Not even remotely," Ryan replied. "He almost killed our dad!"

Ferrel nodded fervently. "Trust us, man. He's bad news of the worst kind!"

The boys were at least in agreement on that, and hopefully they could get Max to listen to them. It was part of their game, anyway. Turning everyone in this strange world against one another. If that Eris chick wanted some bad news chaos, the cassette twins could definitely deliver.

But they needed to get Max's trust, first. Finally, a spark passed between the two over the unique bond they shared both as twins and as cassettes, and Ryan swayed a bit before leaning against his twin. "Ryan?!" Ferrel cried, looking worried as he braced his twin. "What's the matter?!"

"Just feelin' a little off. Hit my head when we dropped into this weird place," Ryan mumbled, resting his head against his brother's shoulder.

Letting his expression hold as worried, Ferrel cast a pleading look toward Max. "Hey, can you help us find somewhere safe? 'specially if that Iron Man's here. We won't stand a chance against him..."

Max looked back and forth between the two boys as they spoke. He wasn't completely sure if they were talking about the same man that had saved him yesterday, but he didn't really have any way to prove it wasn't the same guy either. Sure, he'd saved him from a whole slew of zombies, but then, who didn't hate zombies?

"I d'no..." He said at last, uncertainly, rubbing the back of his head. He didn't get to finish his thought, as suddenly Ryan looked about to collapse. Max moved forward quickly, only relaxing when Ferrel managed to steady him. The blond boy let out a short sigh of relief.

"Yeah, we should probably find some shelter," Max agreed. "Before something else happens..." He trailed off and didn't even want to think about what that could be. "Hopefully we can find somewhere with food, too," He added on as his stomach growled. He made a face, and turned in a circle.

"I just came from that way..." He said, jerking his thumb behind him. "There wasn't really anything back that way. Have you guys seen any buildings or anything?"
